Pro-Rata Leave

Leave entitlement scaled to the portion of the year worked or hours worked (for part-timers and mid-year starters).

Pro-rata (or prorated) leave gives a proportional share of the full-time entitlement to employees who don't work the full year or full hours — new hires, leavers, and part-time staff.

Common methods include scaling by days worked per week or accruing a percentage of hours worked.

Example: A 3-day-a-week employee gets 3/5 of the full-time allowance (e.g. 16.8 of 28 days).

In Orvella: Orvella pro-rates accruals automatically based on start date and schedule.
