Leave Balance

The amount of paid leave an employee currently has available to use.

A leave balance is the running total of leave an employee has earned minus what they've used (and adjusted for carryover and adjustments). It's the number employees check before booking time off.

Accurate balances depend on every accrual, request, and adjustment being recorded consistently.

Example: An employee who accrued 120 hours and used 40 has an 80-hour leave balance.

In Orvella: Orvella rebuilds every balance from an immutable ledger, so it's always accurate and explainable.
