Floating Holiday

A paid day off an employee can use on a date of their choice, instead of a fixed public holiday.

A floating holiday is a flexible paid day, often offered so employees can observe holidays meaningful to them that aren't on the company's standard calendar.

Floating holidays are usually granted as a set number per year and tracked separately from regular PTO.

Example: An employee uses a floating holiday for a religious observance not on the official holiday list.

In Orvella: Track floating holidays as their own leave type with a yearly allowance.
